Hello from Dungeness Meadow Farm, your source for Certified Organic blueberries! We will be open for blueberry U-Pick on Friday, September 6, from 9-2:00, or until we run out of ripe berries. We're not open every day, as our customers prefer that we open when more ripe fruit is available. The weather and the ripening of berries will determine which days we'll be open. We anticipate about two more weeks of harvesting this season.***See the link below to have updates sent to your email.***
*****After much thought, prayer and discussion, we have concluded that it's time to transition the farm. As a result, this is our last season of blueberries. It's been an honor and privilege to provide what we know is an unquestionably outstanding product. Thank you for supporting us for the past 24 years. We'll especially miss the social interactions we've enjoyed with you, and the special friendships we've developed.
We plan to offer the plants for sale ($10 each/ you dig) in Oct./Nov. when they are dormant. We're working on the details; we'll publish them as that time approaches.
Meanwhile, we'll see you in the berry field!*****
When you reach the farm, you may choose a large or small bucket and food-grade plastic liner (which you'll use to take your berries home), then we'll escort you to the area with the ripest berries. Well-mannered children are always welcome here, but please leave your dog at home, as they are not allowed in the field and there is no shade for them while they wait in the car.
For our Certified Organic blueberries, we're asking $3.10 per pound again this year. We accept cash and checks, but not debit or credit cards at this time.
We apologize for our weeds this year. Although the entire field has been manually weeded two or three times, the weather this spring and summer has prevented us from spraying vinegar for maintenance. We continue to weed whack and manually weed as much as possible, but the weeds love our soil as much as the berries do!
Remember: Sampling's OK; Grazing is not!
We'll look forward to seeing you in the berry field!
