Summer Has Not Been Cancelled!

Hello again from Dungeness Meadow Farm!

The berry plants have been pruned, and they are blooming. Dave continues to fertilize and water, and of course we never run out of weeds to pull. We are grateful to have had a fairly mild winter, with no hailstorms and only a couple of late freezes this spring.

Berries are Budding and Looking Healthy

The plants are putting up new starts. Dave is pruning heavily this year in order to encourage additional new growth and to rebuild for the next few years. We got through winter without having to sweep snow off of all of the plants (as we did last year; great aerobic workout)! We're hoping that there will be no heavy frosts or hailstorms this spring, and look forward to seeing those lovely blues in a few months. We'll let you know when we're getting ready to open for this year's harvest.

We'll see you in the berry field!

Blueberry Season 2019 has Ended; No U-Pick this Friday, 8/30

Hello! Our blueberry season for 2019 has ended, and we want to thank all of you who supported us this year. Our season typically begins in mid- to late July, and runs for six to eight weeks. Now it's time to glean the plants, take down the nets to let the birds finish whatever berries are left, and fertilize the plants for their growing season.

Blueberry Season Near the End; Open this Wednesday and Friday

Our blueberry season is nearing the end for this year; after excellent harvesting last week, we anticipate being open for a few more days. We plan to open this Wednesday, August 28, from 10 to 4:00, and Friday, the 30th, from 9 to 4:00, or until we run out of ripe berries. Friday evening we will determine whether and when to open again. For our certified organic blueberries, we ask $2.65 per pound.

Reminder: Evening U-Pick Thursday; Open Saturday 9-4

Our blueberry season is just past its peak; we anticipate being open for another two to three weeks. We still have plenty of delicious fruit, so get it while it's here!

As previously announced, we plan an evening U-Pick on Thursday, August 22 from 4-7 PM, and we'll also be open on Saturday, the 24th from 9 to 4:00. After Saturday's harvest, we'll continue to check the field and announce our next U-Pick days. For our certified organic blueberries, we ask $2.65 per pound (recently reduced from $2.85).

Price Reduction and Extended Hours

Our blueberry season is at its peak, and the blueberries are bursting off of the bushes! We anticipate being open for another month or so, but this is Prime Time.

We plan to open again on Wednesday and Thursday, August 7 and 8 from 9-6:00; and Saturday and Sunday, August 10 and 11 from 9-4:00. After that, we'll continue to check the field and announce our next U-Pick days. For our certified organic blueberries, we ask $2.65 per pound (recently reduced from $2.85).

Price Reduction! From $2.85 to $2.65/Pound (Lowest Price in Five Years)

Our blueberry season is at its peak, and we anticipate being open for another month or more. We're not open every day, as our customers prefer that we open when the most ripe fruit is available. If we've had heavy harvesting, we may need to give the sun time to ripen more berries before we open again. This way, you should be able to find ample ripe fruit, rather than searching for a few berries here and there.
